Summer Storms

My mom and I went antiquing today! Their new house is going to be finished sometime in August, so we're picking out new decorations for it :] Did you know that most antique shops aren't open on Mondays? Me neither. That was a little obnoxious, but we still found a few cute things.

I got some new polish from Happy Hands Polish! I picked out Afternoon Thunderstorms and decided it'd look pretty cool with the cloud stamp from Nail Craze NC02. I think it might have looked better with white, but I think the blue turned out pretty cool. I feel all dark and stormy!

Teal and Orange Wedding Skittles

Two of my favorite people in the entire world got married this weekend!!! It was the cutest wedding ever! I like to think I had something to do with that - I suggested the wedding colors and voiced a strong opinion about the bridesmaid dresses - but really I was just along for the ride. Since I thought it was a little inappropriate to have wild colored nails for the ceremony, I went with a traditional French mani. But here's what I would have done!

Colors Used:
OPI A Roll in the Hague
China Glaze For Audrey

Here's a couple pictures from the wedding!

Wedding Nail Sampler

I have no words when it comes to the Boston Marathon bombings today... I'm still going to upload this originally cheerful post, because during stuff like this sometimes you just need to look at something else for a while. My prayers go out to everyone in Boston today.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

One of my bestiest besties is getting married on Saturday! Today I put together a variety of sample nail designs for us bridesmaids.

I think I like the middle finger the best! Perhaps as just an accent nail for a normal French mani..? I'll keep you posted on what I choose!

Purple Passion

In light of all the events today/tomorrow I decided to rep some love. My camera kept dying, and I might have thrown it across the room a couple times. I got some good shots of the purple at least!! Anyways, pretend that I got the lighting to work out for the stamping!

An Ode To The Carrie Diaries - 80s Fashion Skittles!

Sorry for the lack of posts lately. I've been working a lot, going on recruiting events, accidentally breaking all of my nails, and attempting to reorganize my apartment. I also got my wisdom teeth out yesterday! I was anticipating excruciating pain and the desire to sleep for a week straight, but apparently these painkillers are really doing the trick! I'm rip-roarin' and ready to go!

The CW has a new show this season called The Carrie Diaries, which is supposed to be a Sex & The City prequel. I've been catching up on a few episodes during this recuperation period and it's starting to grow on me. If you ignore the prequel part, this show is actually pretty adorable! It's not exactly how I imagined a high school Carrie, but she doesn't have some pretty great big-city adventures. Plus their 80s outfits are the greatest! I decided to pay tribute to some of them today! Here's my inspiration:

Roses and Bananas

Hey hey hey. I have a couple random pictures to share today. Nothing too exciting. I've been going to a lot of Christmas parties lately, so I haven't had as much time to blog!

Here are some white roses stamped over OPI Thanks A Windmillion.

And this is Pretty & Polished I'm Not a Banana. My ring finger has a Spoiled Designated Driver base since this is a pretty thin color. But it's not really needed.

I hope you guys are ready for some more awesome Christmas movies. Next up is Joyeux Noel, if you want to watch it too!

It's a Boy!

Mi amore had a baby!! I'm heading up to Waco this weekend to meet the little bugger, but in the meantime I'll just wear some cute baby boy skittles! I used Butter London Slapper, Revlon Royal, and Konad white.j

P.S. I'm always amazed at how smudgey these look in the pictures when in real life they look perfectly fine...

Grandma's Wallpaper

Tuesday night might just become my new favorite night of television! Hart of Dixie, New Girl, Raising Hope, The Mindy Project... I'll stop there, because if I listed all of the shows I actually watch on Tuesdays you'd think I was crazy.

As you saw in my last post, I recently bought a bunch of new polish. And I'm determined to use it all! I kinda  threw this one together, and it came out really well! I think it looks like some vintage wallpaper you'd see in your grandma's house. Or at least my grandma's house!

I started off with a base coat of OPI Did You 'Ear About Van Gogh?

Then I added some OPI Thanks A Windmillion polka dots.

Finally I stamped on some lovely China Glaze First Mate flowers!

I also tried a matte topcoat. Usually I hate them, but I feel like it goes well with this!

Fall Into Autumn Challenge: Halloween

Did anyone else watch the debate tonight? I felt like I had to watch, even though I usually can't stand these things. But I'm actually glad that I watched! I won't go into detail, since it's snoozeville to discuss. Instead I will show you some sweet nails.

Today's challenge theme is Halloween! I actually plan on doing a bunch more Halloween nails, so these ones aren't too intricate. I just needed something to get me through the debates (90 minutes). I finished with 2 minutes left!

I got a bunch of new polishes, and I used one of them today! This is from the OPI Holland collection - A Roll In The Hague.

Then I slapped on some spiderweb stamps! This is the first time I've used this stamp, so I'm not an uber pro. But they turned out pretty well. Next time I'll see if I can avoid the random tears..

I don't usually show my right hand (since it always looks like crap) but today I tried out another one of my new polishes that I kinda think goes along with the Halloween theme! First I used a (sloppy) layer of OPI Did It On Em because I was worried that the other polish wouldn't show up very well. You'll see why.

My other new polish is Morning After by 2 Chix Lacquer. I reeeeeeeeeeeeeally like this color for some reason. It looks like fizzy beer puke! Why do I love this? Maybe because I've experienced a lot of fizzy beer puke in my life? Next time I want to skip the bottom color..? It made it look lighter than I wanted. And the little green pukes didn't show up very well. Maybe a darker green?

Ya see the fizzy beer pukes? Yup.
