Summery Saran Wrap Nails

A couple weeks ago I put 95% of my belongings into storage, including almost all of my nail supplies. So for the next few months I'm going to be doing manis that either use super cheap supplies or stuff around the house. I'm not sure how my family is going to feel about me going through their belongings looking for makeshift nail art supplies, but I think they'll get over it.

Today I did a saran wrap mani! I've been meaning to try this out, and it ended up being way easier than I thought! All you have to do is apply one layer of polish and let it dry. Then you paint on another color and dab it with crumpled up saran wrap. It looks a bit like sponge painting, but without any sponges to clean up.
;] I picked some summery colors even though today is a bit gloomy.

Watermelons!

I really wanted to do some fall nail designs this week, but it's so damn hot out that I cannot possibly imagine a time of the year when it's not 105 in the shade. After several futile attempts at leafy nails, I gave up and painted some watermelons. The funky green is from OPI's Nicki Minaj collection - "Did It On 'Em". The pink is Essie "e-nuf is e-nuf".

Just for laughs I stamped a pumpkin on my thumb. Almost ready for fall!

Summer Lovin' Sunflowers

This weekend I went to San Antonio to hang out with a bestie! Since we're both 85 years old at heart, we spent most of our time reading (she was actually studying for the CPA exam, and I was reading) and watching movies. During an uproarious viewing of Mirror Mirror, we whipped out some polish - and this is what I came up with! I was going for a summery sunset look with an orange, pink, maroon gradient. The glitteries on top are Sun-Flower Seeds from Etsy.

A Day at the Beach

Well, the 4th of July festivities are over. I had 5 glorious days off of work, and in true Quinnie style, I spent most of it watching movies. You're jealous of my lifestyle, I know. But now it's back to the real world...

Since I don't really get to go anywhere this summer, so I'm living vicariously through my.. nails. Here's a beach-themed creation complete with starfish, sand-dollar, and dead fish!
