It's a Boy!

Mi amore had a baby!! I'm heading up to Waco this weekend to meet the little bugger, but in the meantime I'll just wear some cute baby boy skittles! I used Butter London Slapper, Revlon Royal, and Konad white.j

P.S. I'm always amazed at how smudgey these look in the pictures when in real life they look perfectly fine...

Hot Wired Halloween Nails

Tomorrow is Halloween!! I already celebrated a bit this weekend, but I wanted to do at least one more nail design. Unfortunately I didn't have a ton of time, because my bestie Kelley had a baby this morning!!! He looks super adorable, and I can't wait to meet him this weekend :) I've been frantically pulling stuff together to bring up to them, but I managed to find some time to put this together.

I had bought some Sally Hansen Hot Wired sticker things I bought after last Halloween, so I applied those. It was a little tough, because they're really supposed to be used within a couple months. But I managed to keep them smooth.

I thought they needed a little something else, so I added a black tip!

Halloween Blood Splatter Mani

Happy Halloweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeen! Halloween kinda snuck up on me this year. I have a really sweet costume I want to make, but I ran out of time :( Don't panic, I have a backup but it's not quite as awesome. At least my nails are ready to go!

This blood splatter was actually a lot easier than I expected it to be. I painted a plastic bag with a few layers of white polish and let it dry for a bit. The rectangle I painted was about twice as wide as my nails are long and about 6 inches long. You can make it a little larger if you're worried about messing up. Then I used a fan brush to splatter red polish around.

I let the paint dry over night. The next day, I painted a couple layers of the white polish onto my nails. Using tweezers, I carefully peeled the polish off the plastic and then cut it into nail-sized rectangles. Placing the polish strips onto mostly-dry nails allows the strip to adhear to the polish underneath. Cool, huh? Then I cut off the edges with cuticle scissors and added a topcoat.

Liquid Lacquer Dino

Tonight is a chill night for me. I've been meaning to try out a polish I got from Liquid Lacquer (formerly 2 Chix Lacquer) on Etsy a while back. It's called Dino and it looks exactly like a dinosaur egg! I have a bunch of differently lighting pictures so you can get a better idea of what this looks like!

Fall Into Autumn Challenge: Smokey Gradient

This is my first attempt at a pretty sweet tutorial by Neverland Nail Blog. I'm going to have to practice a little more to that it'll look as awesome as hers, but I think this is a fair attempt. I used China Glaze Dress Me Up, Below Deck, and OPI Vampsterdam for my three colors.

Skyfall Collection Part 2

Yikes, it's been a week since the last post! I'm not sure what I've been doing... Baking cupcakes and passing kidney stones, I guess. I went to Oktoberfest Houston! Drank some beers! Mmm beer.

Without further adieu, here's the rest of the OPI Skyfall collection.

The Spy Who Loved Me
Is there anything harder to photograph than red polish??!! I have so many issues... Someone remind me to Google ways to overcome this...

Die Another Day
I think this is my second favorite color in the collection! It's more orange then red, but a really pretty mix of both :)

The World Is Not Enough

You Only Live Twice

On Her Majesty's Secret Service

Skyfall
This is my favorite color in the collection!! To be honest, there weren't that many colors to choose from. Oodles of reds and greys. But I guess that just how James Bond do.

Goldeneye

The Living Daylights
This looks so much cooler in the bottle... Maybe I just suck at glitters.

The Man With the Golden Gun
This was a super expensive polish.. I guess since it's made of 18K gold! It even came in an intense box!
